This is the 5th new piece for my upcoming solo exhibition, capturing a funny scene from a yakitori restaurant.
Yakitori is a Japanese skewered chicken dish. It’s known for its variety—everything from juicy thighs to vegetables is grilled over charcoal. Shishito is a type of pepper. But beware—every now and then, one might be surprisingly spicy!

From right to left:
Piping-hot core of the Japanese long onion.
Cherry tomato splash! Then a chicken meatball.
First one’s the “lucky” shishito — zing!
Pungent kick from wasabi on chicken tenderloin.
Just enjoying bonjiri (chicken tail) and plum shochu, observing the rest.
