先日、洗濯物を畳んでいたら、お気に入りの靴下がかなり毛玉だらけになっていることに気が付きました。捨てるべきかしら？とも思ったのですが、なんとなく毛玉が愛おしく思えたのと、靴下も誇らしそうにしている気がして、また引き出しにしまいました。
そんなことから着想を得た一枚です。

While folding laundry the other day, I noticed that my favorite socks had gotten pretty fuzzy. They were covered in pilling — those little balls of fiber that appear on socks or sweaters after lots of wear.
I wondered if it was time to toss them, but instead, I found the fuzzies kind of endearing. The socks even looked a little proud, as if they knew how much they’ve been loved. So I fold them and put them back in the drawer.
This piece was inspired by that small moment.
