お気に入りの靴下：穴！ / My Favorite Socks: Check Out This Hole!

7/4-9の個展に向けた新作紹介、2枚目(🧦は連作ですが1枚ずつの販売です)。
「見て、穴開いちゃったよ！」
「ふっふっふ…まだまだだな。」
「わー、すご！」
みたいな感じです。
ほんとに穴が空いている感じで描いているので、拡大写真も見てね 🔍️👀 ちなみに、2022年にも「穴の空いた靴下 / A Sock with a Hole (sold)」 を描きました。こちらは出かける前に気づいた様子👞 最後に3枚画像を載せています。
壁にも、棚にも。白い犬スクエア
10 x 10cmと両手に収まるサイズでありながら、厚みは3.7cm。コロンとした小さなキャンバスに描いたこの作品を「白い犬スクエア」と名付けました。壁掛けはもちろん、自立するので好きな棚に置いて飾ることもできます。
“スクエア”は、四角をイメージする以外に人が集まる広場も想起させます。白い犬スクエア作品がズラッと並ぶと、人の数だけある、私たちの日々のおかしみをあれこれ眺めているようですし、この小さな作品を集めたくなるような楽しさ、コレクションした壁を想像するワクワク感につながるように感じています。

“Heh heh… You’ve got a lot to learn.”
“Whoa, that’s amazing!”
Something like that. The hole is painted to really look like it goes all the way through — be sure to check the close-up! 🔍️👀 (This piece is for my upcoming solo exhibit. All four pieces will be sold individually.
By the way, I also painted A Sock with a Hole (sold) in 2022. 🧦 That one captures the moment someone notices a hole right before heading out. 👞 I’ve included three images from the 2022 piece at the end of the image list.
Hang it or stand it, The White Dog Square:
This is a palm-sized, charming little painting on a 10 x 10 cm (3.9 x 3.9 in) canvas with a chunky 3.7 cm (1.5 in) depth. I named them The White Dog Square series.
It can be hung on a wall, of course, but it also stands on its own—perfect for display on a shelf or table.
When these pieces are displayed together, it feels like looking into a collection of small joys and quirky moments from many different lives. I hope they spark joy in one's desire to grow a collection of small square canvases.
