「こぼれた」途中経過

光っているのと、乾いていないメディウムの関係で見づらいかもですが、こちらは「こぼれた」シリーズの途中経過。キャンバス正面はそれぞれの飲み物／スープで、側面はマグカップの色になっています。
肝心のこぼれた部分に目が言ってほしいのであまり正面にテクスチャーをつけたくないのですが、コーンポタージュのぽってりした感じ、コーヒーの透明感にはこだわりたいなと思っています。
構想段階では右下のハニーミルクのマグカップの色はわりと鮮やかなブルーを考えていたのですが、抑え気味の方が良さそうだったので、青みの塩梅を調整中、だんだんといい感じになってきました。

The glare and the fact that the medium hasn’t fully dried yet may make these a little difficult to see, but these are works in progress from my “Spilled…” series.
The front of each canvas features a different drink or soup, while the sides are painted in the color of its mug.
I don’t want to add too much texture to the front, as I’d like the focus to remain on the spilled contents themselves. However, I’m paying some attention to capturing the thick, creamy consistency of the corn soup and the translucency of the coffee.
At the planning stage, I had imagined the mug for the honey milk (bottom right) in a fairly vivid blue. But a more subdued shade seemed to work better, so I’ve been adjusting just the right balance of blue. It’s gradually coming together!
