今から投稿する4枚はそれぞれ古民家 空時さんで過ごす様子を描いたものです。お店に訪れた方がご自宅で追体験することをイメージして制作しました。（注文制作品）
個人的に、こちらのぜんざいが大好きです。お味はもちろん、漆器も素敵だし箸休めのチョイスも最高なんですよ〜😋
★ざらざらの風合い、新登場
空時さんは、古民家をリノベーションしたお店なのですが、たくさんの仲間たちが改装に関わっています。みんなで手分けして塗ったグレーやベンガラ色の漆喰や、穏やかな黄色が美しい京壁の風合いがとても心地よいです。そこで新作の4枚中3枚は、その壁の風合いを意識した作りにしてみました。
ここまでのザラザラ下地は未体験だったので、納得する下地の風合い作りも描きこみも、どちらも難儀したのですが、古民家空時さんに行ったことがある方なら、「そうそう、この感じ！」と思っていただける仕上がりになったと満足しています。
This painting is one of four pieces depicting moments spent at Kominka Soradoki.
Personally, I’m a big fan of their zenzai*. Not only are the flavors of the dish delightful, but the lacquerware bowl they’re served on is beautiful, too. The small side savory treats served with it are yummy! 😋
*Zenzai is a warm Japanese dessert made of sweet red bean soup with mochi (rice cakes). It’s often enjoyed in the colder months, bringing comfort with each bite.
★ New Textures Inspired by Soradoki’s Walls
Soradoki is a renovated kominka (traditional Japanese house), and many friends joined forces to bring the space to life. The warm textures of the hand-applied grey and bengara-hued plaster, along with the gentle yellow hue and texture of the Kyōkabe (traditional Japanese plaster) wall, create a truly inviting atmosphere.
With that in mind, three of the four new pieces were inspired by the textures of these beautiful walls.
It was my first time working with such a rough surface, so creating the right texture and adapting my painting process was a real challenge—but I’m happy with the result. For anyone who’s been to Soradoki, I think you’ll recognize the feeling right away!
